Old German violin bow after Lupot from Markneukirchen, approx. 1940

This German violin bow features excellent reacitvity and elasticity and a perfect weight distribution with a balance-point that is sensed well-centered. The bow that bears a Lupot model brandstamp on shaft has a round medium strong stick featuring high tension and that was crafted of light brown pernambuco wood; its overall appearance is very typical for bows from the traditional violin making town of Markneukirchen in Saxony, where it was crafted approx. 1940 in an unknown workshop. The nickel mounted ebony frog demonstrates the flawless craftsmanship of the bow, that features a total length of 74.1 cm, with a measured balance point at 25.2 cm. According to its recommendable playing properties this good German violin bow features a warm, fluid sound, that is large, mature and bright.
